John hughes cars & service?

Not sure if there is a better business bureau in your area, but they can give you an idea if they are getting many complaints. Otherwise, check to see if the owner has a criminal record. If so- for what? Odometer tampering is not a good sign. On the other hand- sometimes with careful inspection of a vehicle that you know what durability and longevity potentials are for that vehicle before purchase you can save yourself a lot of grief. You might even find a good car in a lot full of lemons. Even the most reputable dealers have cars that go sour. Is there any warranty offered with the vehicle? If not- make sure you have someone familiar with quirks of that specific vehicle you are looking at to see if they can spot a problem.
