Friend advice/question?

Ok so i just transferred to a new school, where i knew one person previously and at the moment i hang out with her. schools only been 2 days so far, and i met a girl in my homeroom yesterday who was really nice and remembered my name. homeroom meets mondays and fridays for 15 mins and tues and thurs for 5-10 mins. so i dont see her that often. i THINK im seeing her tuesday , im not totally sure. but basically i've seen her friends, one of her best friends is in 2 of my cles but i haven't gotten a chance to talk to her yet, and i really want to hang out with her and her friends. in homeroom were sitting around other people, it's not just us. so idk how to ask her if i can sit with her at lunch with all those other people around and without it being awkward or weird. any advice? i don't want people to think i'm some weirdo, but obviously im new im not supposed to know anyone haha. thanks
