Is this a good after-high school plan?

I graduate highschool next (school) year, 2012. and ill be 17. I plan on going to college and either majoring in chemistry and minoring in criminal justice, or vice versa. After 4 years of college I'll be 21. Then I want to go to a police training academy. In my state there's a twenty two week training program. After a few years as a state trooper, I would like to apply to be a crime scene investigator. Does this sound like an alright plan?
