Help! anyone who's had braces??!?

so today i got my bands off. you know the metal thing on the lasy tooth that i guess holds the wires. i'm not getting the brackets off for another two weeks. well anyways the four teeth that the band was on feel disgusting. it feels plaque/tarter build up. i have spent an hour brushing but it's still there. it feel like rock hard plaque! how can i get rid of it??
